The Sovereign Series chessmen are made from ebonised boxwood and natural boxwood, resulting in an elegant and beautiful set that is a prized addition to the Regency Chess Company's stock. Despite their smaller size of only three inches for the king, the pieces have a perfectly balanced and well-weighted scale due to their wide bases. Crafted by a top wooden chessmen producer and using high-quality graded boxwood, the pieces have a convincing ebony-like appearance thanks to the ebonising process. This ensures long-lasting color that will not fade over time. Each set is produced in small batches of ten or less, with each knight carefully carved by hand for near-identical results. This luxurious set includes four queens.
