Colour matched deluxe chess set combining the wonderful rosewood deluxe Staunton series chessmen with a superb 50.80 cm wenge and maple deluxe chess board. The chess pieces are hand turned from solid exotic rosewood which has a beautiful deep red colour with dark grain throughout. While the design remains firmly 'Staunton' there are slight departures from the classic that results in a chess piece design that's more sweeping with particular attention to proportions.
The chess board is from our Deluxe wenge and maple range. At almost 50.80 cm in width, this board supports the Chess pieces more than sufficiently. The construction is very fastidious and is millimetre perfect. The chequerboard from veneers of cross-grain wenge and maple woods and the border and edge is wenge too. The whole board is coated in a matt finish lacquer which provides a level of protection.
Finally, we have included our superb solid Rosewood chess piece case with sliding lid. This provides the perfect storage solution for your chessmen when not in play. The box is hand made and features 2 green flock lined compartments inside.
