Each piece is constructed from one piece of wood, subsequently making it strong and robust. This process ensures that every chess piece in this set will last for generations rather than just a few years.
Despite their moderate price, all of the Down Head Knight range is crafted and finished to an excellent standard. Each piece has been hand polished to create an excellent but not overstated shine. The black pieces are ebonised: a process that creates the look of real ebony and further strengthens and preserves the wood.
